Why Is My Dashboard Empty?

You opened your dashboard and all the charts and widgets show “No data” or appear blank.

  1. There is no data yet. Dashboard widgets display data from your entity records. If you haven’t created any records (contacts, opportunities, activities), the widgets have nothing to show.

  2. Dashboard filters are too restrictive. If the dashboard has date filters or owner filters applied, they may be excluding all your data.

  3. Widget configuration points to the wrong entity or field. A chart configured to show “Opportunities by Stage” won’t display anything if the opportunity entity has no records.

  4. Your profile doesn’t have read access to the underlying data. If your security profile restricts access to certain entities, widgets that query those entities will appear empty.

  5. The dashboard is newly created with no widgets. A blank dashboard simply means no widgets have been added yet.

  1. First, verify that you have data. Navigate to the entity the widget is supposed to display (e.g., Opportunities) and confirm records exist.
  2. Check the dashboard date range filter — try setting it to “All time” to rule out date filtering.
  3. If you are viewing a shared dashboard, check whether the data is filtered by owner. Switch to “All users” if available.
  4. Click the widget settings icon and verify it is configured to use the correct entity, field, and aggregation.
  5. If your profile may be restricting data access, ask your administrator to verify your read permissions.

If you have data, your filters are correct, and your permissions are fine, try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache. If specific widgets show “Error loading data”, there may be a configuration issue — delete the widget and recreate it.
